Vicks warm mist humidifier

If you are looking for a short answer to the question that will help you decide which is the best humidifier for your home, then you’ve come to the right place folks. There are only two ways to decide which one is an ideal fit and luckily there are only two branded humidifiers that you need to juggle with when it comes to answering the question. There is the Slant Fin humidifier with all its pedigree and then there is the Vicks warm mist humidifier, both of which have made it to the top of my list of humidifying excellence. The reason that they’ve done so however are very different and in fact very polarizing. A quick not about the slant fin humidifiers though, Slant Fin, the parent company behind the humidifiers sold off its humidifier branch to the Enviracaire corporation a couple of months back. While the business was going strong and sales were growing the company felt that it needed to focus on its core business which is providing heaters, heating systems and boilers to mainly industrial customers. Anyone with business savvy will see that it was an odd decision for an industrial heating equipments manufacturer to get into manufacturing systems for consumers, but then that is how things go.

So slant fin, using its expertise in the industrial market brought about a number of innovations to the home humidifier marker. Namely the dual germicidal process which used constant boiling and a UV bulb to ensure a pure and clean mist. There was also a lot of work that went into creating the filters for the machine that would allow it to use hard water without any repercussions. So what repercussions am I talking about? How about white dust. Any humidifier veteran will remember white dust and the havoc it caused when it was around. So why is Vicks on the list then? Because they took the whole package, replicated it and are now selling it for a fourth of the SlantFin’s cost.
